Best Budget/Indie Game: Rock Band Blitz

Rock Band Blitz

We gamers must face the fact that gaming can sometimes be an expensive hobby. Harmonix understood this when they made the risky move to take the familiar Rock Band gameplay and reshape it into a package that is not only a great value, but also one of the best games of this year.

At a measly price of $14.99, Rock Band Blitz delivers a fast paced, easy to pick up and hard to master experience that will inadvertently train your brain to stop forcing your eyes to blink.

Aside from the addictive core gameplay, the developer continues to add new challenges to the game every week via its Facebook page, Rock Band World, that brings new life into the mountains of song DLC that is available. Not only is all of the DLC from previous Rock Band games supported in Blitz, saving you from having to buy more; but the included library of music; ranging from Maroon 5 to Iron Maiden, can be played in Rock Band 3.

Rock Band Blitz is so much fun for an affordable price that if anyone has released a more deserving Budget game to take home this award, I haven’t heard about it. It could just be that I haven’t stopped playing it since the game’s release.

I also haven’t blinked since then.  My eyes are so dry.

Rock Band Blitz is The Married Gamers 2012 Staff Pick for Best Budget/Indie Game.
