Get Commissioner Gordon on the line. The guys over at Warner Bros. Interactive, DC Comics, and Monolith have been playing with the Bat-Signal again.
Earlier today, Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment announced that the console version of the Gotham City Impostors public beta is now available for download for the Xbox 360 in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and for the PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network.
In case you’ve missed out on what Gotham City Impostors is all about, here’s a quick recap. Based on DC’s Detective Comics #866-870, the game recruits up to 12 players into a battle for control of Gotham. Joining up with either the “Batz” or “Jokerz” gang, players will have access to all sorts of wacky gadgets and weapons, including everything from roller skates and rocket launchers to glider wings and hand grenades. To help spread the word about the open beta, WBIE and DC are showing off some of the game’s outrageous weapon combos in a new trailer dubbed “Simple Math”.
Batman (and Joker) wannabes with an Xbox 360 will have to head over to the Gotham City Impostors website and register for a chance to receive a beta key. On the other hand, PS3 owners looking to duke it out on the streets of Gotham can head right on over to the PlayStation Store and download the beta immediately.
Gotham City Impostors is due out next month for Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PC.
